It has almost been a year since I got serious about losing weight. I was really unhealthy and was pushing 230 pounds.
I have always been on the heavier side, but baking, stress and no exercise pushed me to be over 100 pounds over weight.
I have been thinking about a post I could do to encourage people and give tips but it's just SO different depending on your body type.
Here are a few things I did to help losing weight:
1. "Take the Fork Out of Your Mouth"
+It is so important to make sure you stop eating bad food. Diet is 80 percent of it, where exercise is 20 percent. This is super hard, especially for someone who was used to eating 3800 calories a day (COUGH), but it has to be done. Some ways that can jump start a weight loss that I recommend are detoxes. Detoxes are a great way to start out and a great inspiration! You can see impressive results right away! I did a cleanse when I started June 18th and I lost 21 lbs in 3 weeks (combined with exercise too).
2. Weigh Yourself.
+When you are over weight, the hardest thing in the world is to step on a scale. It's awful and just makes you want to go eat cookie dough..(or is that just me?). BUT, this is super important and can be crazy motivating! No a days I tell anyone how much a weigh, "I weigh 173 lbs! Used to be 230!" haha, people sometimes think I get sad when my boyfriend tells people how much I weigh and how much a lost but we both kind of laugh and say no way! I love it and I don't care! This is the first time I am under the weight that is says on my license, and its the first time I can tell anyone how much I weigh. So, tracking your weight can be great, even if you only lose .4 lbs, that's almost half a pound! Worthy of celebration in my book! Also, if you gain .4 it's good to make sure what is working and whats not working.
3. Exercise.
+This is the hardest one. No one has time, and anything else sounds better right? The past 2 months have been really hectic for me and exercising has gone down the drain. But, when I started out I was doing really great! And, I am waiting for my new gym to open up where I am going to go for 3 months, I will pay 140$ a month, and get unlimited personal training! This is going to be fantastic because I am so bad at motivation. SO bad. There are so many ways you can exercise though, walking an hour a day, running if you can, biking, buying fun dance videos, etc. Since you are probably a blogger if you are reading this, you should create a journal to track all of your exercise down to make if fun and exciting to keep up with!
So, my goal is another 40ish lbs, I want to be in my mid 130s, and I hope to accomplish this by July. I can't wait!
Are you trying to lose weight? Have you lost a significant amount recently? How'd you do it?
