Recipe: Baklava

Baking has always been a love of mine. But, since I have been trying to lose weight, I haven't been able to do it as much (more on this soon). But, my best friend requested some baklava a few weeks ago, so I obliged :)
I had never made or even tasted Baklava! And boy, is it delicious! Here is the recipe I used:

What you need:
4 cups walnuts, finely chopped
1/2 cup of sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 lb. phylo dough
1 cup butter, melted
1 jar (12 oz.) of honey

--Grease a 13-by-9 inch baking Dish. In large bowl combine nuts, sugar and cinnamon until blended. In baking dish, place a sheet of phylo dough, allowing it to extend up the sides of the dish; brush with melted butter. Repeat using 5 more buttered layers of phylo. Sprinkle 1 cup of the nut mixture. Keep repeating this step (6 layers of dough, 1 cup of mixture) end with phylo dough on top. With a sharp knife, cut half way through all layers in a diamond pattern. Bake in 300-degree oven for 1 hr and 30 minutes.
--Meanwhile, in saucepan over medium/low heat, heat honey until hot but not boiling. Spoon hot honey evenly over baked baklava. Cool in pan for 1 hour; cover and let stand in room temperature for several hours before serving.

It was so delicious!
